Is aimed at you
More than the rest
Breathe then most deeply
And your wise soul will sense
That Dad, too, makes wrong turns
In this baffling life, immense
Breathe as well for my boy
Who, somewhere along the way,
Was shorn his sturdy lungs
Gasping greatly ‘til today
Breathe my faith afresh
Joy just in you, you being born!
Your baby’s smile lighting my life
My searching heart no longer torn
Breathe it out
Confusion, doubt
The rage inside
That makes us shout
Breathe it in
The best you’ve been
Your shining self
Through thick and thin
Breathe in, slow. Breathe out, release.
And as it fills your chest
Know this delicious, dancing air
Is your song, singly blessed
Breathe forgiveness
Breathe release
Breathe through sorrows
That never cease
And grasp that in each
Breath you take
My love for you
Will never slake
Focus on this one first need
With wild winds’ fury, take no heed
And in that space of grace you’ll feed
Your flower bloomed from precious seed
So breathe, cariño, sshhh, now, breathe …
And as I hold you near and dear
Know that nothing else, NOTHING matters!
But you and me. Now and here.
